What really goes on in homeschooling

Here is a very funny picture about homeschooling that I "borrowed"
from my friend Jean's blog

After homeschooling for a year in earnest, I really find this humorous!

26 years ago today!

Twenty-six years ago,
on a cold and frosty day,

our oldest son Ted was born.

He lit up our world beginning all those years ago . . .

As he continues to light up our lives today in such an amazing way . . .

He was born on the day we celebrate "Love" . . .

A most perfect gift for Valentine's Day!

Happy Birthday Ted - your family loves you to the moon and back!

Happy 2nd Gotcha Day Elijah Jiehao!

Elijah's 2nd Gotcha Day Anniversary!

February 1, 2010 was a very special day for us.  It was the day we received Elijah Jiehao.  When we first met our little Elijah though, he was withdrawn and grief-stricken and just plain shut down.

First time Mommy kissed her little boy - February 1, 2010

But oh what love can do!
The love of our Father in Heaven and the love of a forever family!

Christmas time - December 2011

Elijah - we love you from the depths of our souls.  The road you have traveled to get to this rightful place in your real and forever family has been long and difficult for you at times, but you are home where you belong now, and we adore you littlest treasure of our family!

Shepherd's Field

Kevin and I invite you to watch this heart-warming video interviewing Tim and Pam Baker as they talk about Shepherd's Field, our Philip's China home.

May it touch your heart today.

Another week of seeing how to take Jesus with you!

Here are some cute pictures of Sophia's turn to have our children's church's Jesus doll spend the week with her.  It is such a cool way to show the children how they can have Jesus with them at all times.  Love it!

In Matthew 28:20, Jesus said,

". . . and surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Such a wonderful week full of joy!

This past week after Christmas has also been
filled with such joy!

So many visits with so many special people . . .

Grandma with four of her five grandchildren.
Our nephew Michael came later but was not feeling well enough for a picture.
He had had knee surgery just three days before!

Gram with all of her grandchildren.
This doesn't often happen that they are all together at once!

Breakfast with our dear friends Lisa and Michelle

Lunch with Aunt Susie who is working on a
sand art project with Philip in this picture

Then there were the things we forget to take pictures of such as dinner with our sweet friend Minh, another dinner with our good friends Chris and Martha and their daughters (whom Eli couldn't take his eyes off of the entire evening thinking that Chris and Martha's 20-something year old daughters where just there for him!), spending New Year's Eve with Tim and Anna, and their family including Aaron who came home fron China to his forever family last March, and many other fun things.

We pray that Sophia long remembers all of the wonderful things she took part in during her first Christmas home - celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, being with family and friends, and doing so many fun things is sure to leave its fingerprint on her heart!
